Gulf Coast Wildlife Management was created out of a law passed in 1995 by the Texas Legislature that made it possible for property owners with an ag valuation to maintain their same property tax savings while managing for native habitat and wildlife instead of OR in addition to livestock, crops, timber or any other 1D1 open-space management requirements.
With 97% of Texas privately owned, native Texas wildlife depend heavily on property owners willing to lend them a hand with their habitat preservation. Gulf Coast Wildlife Management assists property owners in promoting healthy Texas habitats for native wildlife. Most often a property owner can continue their preferred agricultural activities (if they choose to) while obtaining Wildlife Management agricultural property tax status. It is a win for both property owners and native Texas wildlife.
Gulf Coast Wildlife Management exists to help property owners with the appropriate wildlife management plan for their property, the Central Appraisal District application process, and successful implementation of the qualifying activities.
